Dear neighbours and friends,

I am writing to you as both your councillor and as a candidate in the upcoming election on Thursday 7 May.

Over the past four years it has been the honour of my life to be able to represent my home ward of Burmantofts and Richmond Hill; to serve my neighbours and my community; and to stand up and fight on behalf of residents across Leeds 9.

As your councillor, I have worked tirelessly to be a champion for our area and to help improve our communities. This has included:

• securing funding for playgrounds, outdoor activities and community sports teams and social clubs across the ward, ensuring they can keep on with the vital work they do across our community
• coordinating with the police and partner agencies to help tackle antisocial behaviour and crime, and overseeing the installation of new CCTV equipment locally
• supporting efforts to address environmental crime, fly tipping and littering - attending dozens of litter picks and community clear ups over the years, and reporting those responsible for fly tipping
• pushing for more resources for our communities to address social challenges across Burmantofts and Richmond Hill and to ensure we have a vibrant and thriving local area
• helping hundreds of residents each year with individual items of casework.

Over the last four years I have always done everything within my power to make a difference and see a positive change across our communities. However, there is still more work to do, and my commitment to improving the area we all call home is even stronger than it was when I was first elected.

My priorities going forward will be your priorities: taking on the fly tippers and keeping our streets clean, working with the police to stop crime and antisocial behaviour, improving our parks and green spaces, ensuring the roads and pavements are in good condition, and keeping our local organisations thriving.
