The Liberal Democrats have selected Nick Dodds to stand as their candidate for Walton North in the May local elections.

Nick was educated in Elmbridge and has lived in the borough for the last 8 years.

He is a TV sports journalist and producer and will use his communication skills to speak powerfully for the people of Walton North. He has been active locally, and further afield, in the Lib Dems since the 2019 General Election campaign, driven by a commitment to improve local democracy and to reflect the strengths of the local community.

Nick knows how important it is to listen to local people and understand the kind of change they want to see in Walton North to make it a better place to live.

Nick says: “Local democracy is one of the primary reasons I am Liberal Democrat. I want to be an advocate for local people and the issues that matter to them. From education, health and social care, housing and climate change. I want to help empower local people to make them feel democracy works for them.

“To improve the voice of local people, more Liberal Democrat voices are needed on the local council. If elected, I will seek a constant dialogue with residents and, as their Councillor, provide effective and sympathetic representation.”
