Statement to voters
"It is a very great honour that the Labour Party has allowed me the opportunity to stand again as the St Luke’s Ward candidate in the 2019 Borough Council elections. In May 2018 I came within 120 votes of winning the seat, along with achieving the largest swing to Labour within the Borough.
“I believe I have the best chance of winning the seat having achieved a level of recognition within the ward at the last election. With your support Labour can make a breakthrough in St Luke’s Ward in 2019.
“In my campaign, I will connect with the issues and concerns of residents. I will represent all the areas and residents within the Ward and not merely concentrate my efforts only on certain roads and streets.
“In terms of policies, I will support initiatives to build more social housing in the Borough; the provision of truly affordable homes; to stimulate jobs and economic growth in both St Luke’s Ward and throughout the town.
“It is time for a change of direction in the Southend Borough, by voting Labour in St Luke’s we can make those changes happen”.
