Statement to voters

Dear Constituents of Bradford South, I am writing to you with a deep sense of responsibility and commitment as your prospective Member of Parliament.

Full statement

I am honoured to seek your support in the upcoming election. Born, raised and I work in this diverse community, I have a profound connection to our area and a deep understanding of the issues we face. I am committed to serving the people of Bradford South with dedication, integrity, accountability and a clear vision for a better future.

Locally, our community faces pressing issues that require urgent attention. Crime is on the rise, leaving many of us feeling unsafe in our neighbourhoods. Unemployment remains a persistent challenge, particularly among our youth who are struggling to find meaningful opportunities. As your MP, I will prioritise community policing initiatives and invest in youth programmes that provide skills training and job opportunities. Strengthening our local economy and ensuring safety in our streets are paramount to building a thriving Bradford South for all.

Our NHS is under strain, exacerbated by years of inefficiencies. I am committed to fighting for increased support and efficiency for our NHS, ensuring that everyone has access to high quality care when they need it most. Mental health services require greater investment to meet the growing demand and support our community's well-being.

Internationally, the plight of the Palestinian people weighs heavily on our conscience. The recent ICJ ruling underscores the urgent need for justice and accountability in the face of human rights violations. I stand firmly for the right to self-determination for the Palestinian people and support the recognition of a Palestinian state. The UN's Francesca Albanese report sheds light on the grave injustices faced by Palestinians, and it is incumbent upon us to advocate for their rights and dignity. Furthermore, we cannot ignore the suffering of the Ukrainian, Rohingya, and Yemeni people, whose plights demand our attention and action. These crises call for a compassionate and just response from the international community.

Judith Cummins, while in office, has not effectively represented these critical issues nor advocated for meaningful change in Bradford South. Unlike Judith Cummins, I bring a background in law that equips me with the expertise to navigate complex legal matters and advocate for justice both locally and internationally. My commitment to Bradford South is unwavering, and I will ensure that our voices are heard loud and clear in Parliament.

My extensive experience in community advocacy and grassroots activism has prepared me to be an effective and passionate representative for Bradford South. Over the years, I have worked for the NHS to improve health inequalities in our area and I now work in the legal profession. My commitment to our community is unwavering, and I am confident that I can bring a fresh perspective and new energy to Parliament as your MP.

One of my core priorities is education. I will advocate for increased support for schools, and resources that empower teachers to provide high-quality education. By investing in education, we can equip the next generation with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive in an increasingly competitive world and to aspire to be the best version of themselves.

Our NHS is an amazing institution and one that I am deeply passionate about. It is however under immense pressure, and I am committed to fighting for improved efficiencies for local hospitals and GP surgeries. I will advocate for improved mental health services and work to reduce waiting times for essential treatments. I will work tirelessly to ensure that everyone in Bradford South has access to high-quality healthcare closer to home and in the community.

Economic development and job creation are also at the forefront of my agenda. Bradford South has immense potential, and I believe that by supporting local businesses, attracting new investments, and fostering innovation, we can create a thriving economy that benefits everyone. I will work to secure funding for infrastructure projects and support initiatives that promote entrepreneurship. By revitalising our local economy, we can create sustainable jobs and improve the quality of life for all residents.

In conclusion, I believe that my experience, dedication, and vision make me an excellent candidate for Member of Parliament for Bradford South. I am committed to working tirelessly on behalf of our community, advocating for policies that address our needs, and ensuring that Bradford South has a strong and effective voice in Parliament.

Together, we can build a brighter future for our community, where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

I ask for your support and your vote so that together, we can make a real difference.

Thank you,
