Statement to voters

I'm standing in the upcoming by-election to represent Baglan on Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council, and I am writing to ask for your support on Thursday 17th July.

Full statement

Firstly, a tribute to Peter Richards. I along with my fellow Green colleagues would like to oer their sympathies and condolences to the family and friends of Cllr Peter Richards. Peter was a champion for Baglan and I will continue his work and be a champion for you.

Here are some reasons to vote for me:

GREENS WORK HARD - I have the skills to do what needs to be done in our community.

In May 2022, Neath Port Talbot elected its first Green Councillor and he is already working hard to improve our community. I am keen to join them in bringing about much needed changes to make Neath Port Talbot a better place to live now and in the future. Our community is incredibly important to me. I am organised, hard working and love getting things done.

GREENS AREN’T TOLD HOW TO VOTE - I’ll be an independent voice for you.

It’s time for a fresh voice to speak up at Neath Port Talbot Council for what we all know is right. Green Councillors put people before politics. Other party candidates, even those in the independent group, must toe the party line. Just look at the mishandling of the Neath Transport Hub or the Aberavon parking charges. I’m ready to stand up for you—just as our Green Councillor has done—offering a strong, independent voice for real change.

I AM PASSIONATE TRADE UNIONIST

I have been an active trade unionist for many decades, so much so that is my day job! I make it my job to stand up for people who have been impacted by corporate greed and bad decisions. I’m not afraid to speak up, and publicly for change. The tired old parties have had their chance, and far-right rhetoric won’t fix our problems. With a group of Greens we will be a catalyst for change!

WITH YOUR SUPPORT GREENS CAN WIN HERE

In local elections, the number of people who vote Green is rising. The Green Party won a safe Labour seat in Skewen in the 2022 local elections which shows we can win. Your vote could see me join our Green Group on the Council. I’m honoured to have been selected to represent you at the
by-election on Thursday 17th July.

Put your trust in me. I won’t let you down.
