Statement to voters
I am delighted to be the Conservative candidate for Banbury Calthorpe Division in the Oxfordshire County Council elections on 1 May.
Full statement
I have lived in Banbury for 15 years, and have been an active member of the Keep the Horton General campaign, a volunteer community driver for Citizens Advice North Oxon & South Northants, and a volunteer vaccination steward at the Banbury Cross Health Centre.
I was elected to Cherwell District Council in May 2022; later that year, I also became a Trustee of Banbury Charities. As a CDC Member for Banbury Calthorpe and Easington, I have played a key role in ensuring the opening of the Country Park and Pavilion, removal of the unsightly Heras fencing, maintenance within the Country Park and much-needed improvements to the roads and other infrastructure in the Longford Park area, something that I continue to do. I have also secured £10k for IT equipment for Longford Park Primary School from Oxfordshire County Council as well as supporting other grants to the School from Banbury Charities.
In May 2024, I was elected to Banbury Town Council, representing Calthorpe South. I continue to make sure that residents’ views and needs are fully represented, and I remain committed to pushing for ongoing improvements in the Longford Park, Bankside, and Cherwell Heights areas.
As well as being a councillor and charity trustee, I am also a volunteer at the weekly Banbury Larder Job Club, helping local residents to find work.
As your Oxfordshire County Councillor for Banbury Calthorpe,my key priorities are to fix our roads, cut waste by the increasingly profligate Liberal Democrat-led County Council, and lower your council tax bills. Something very dear to my heart is the desire to see improvements in SEND services in Oxfordshire as a whole. As your County Councillor for Banbury Calthorpe I will always make myself available to address any concerns you may have, just as I have done for the past three years for residents across both Calthorpe and Easington.
