Anna Collar is currently Associate Professor of Roman Archaeology at the University of Southampton, where she is a member of the Sustainability and Biodiversity Implementation Groups.

She has previously stood for election to the New Forest District Council, and since 2018 has volunteered as an Assistant Leader for the 1st Burley Beaver Scouts. Anna lived in Burley until 2023, where two of her children are still at school. She now lives in Lyndhurst.

She says, “it is clear to everyone that `politics as usual’ hasn’t worked. We need a new approach. That’s why support for the Green Party has grown so rapidly. We’ve seen a surge in Green Party politicians elected. The number of green districts councillors has more than quadrupled in the last four years and increased by an impressive 200 at the local elections in May 2023. We are especially proud that, for the first time, we now have three representatives on New Forest District council. We know that we can see even better results at next general election.”
