Statement to voters

It is my pleasure to announce that I am your local Labour Party County Council candidate for Cottenham, Willingham and Rampton in the upcoming County Council elections on May 1st.

Full statement

Having lived in Cottenham for years it is an honour to have the opportunity to represent my local area.

My Plan
Fix the potholes! The Labour Government has given Cambridgeshire an extra £10m so we now have £37.5m to fix our roads. I will make sure we get our fair share of this for our villages, and quickly.

Support our schools. I want to see teaching once again be a profession that sparks joy, not burnout. And make sure we offer a brighter future for our children and as someone who works in the IT sector, I know this can be delivered by a digital revolution. I have already supported Ladybird preschool by arranging for laptops and monitors to be donated to them.

Crack down on antisocial behaviour including dangerous driving by making best use of the Community Safety Partnership. And providing more things for people to do. Did you know that the Lib Dem run District Council is sitting on over £20m of funding meant to provide social infrastructure?

Sort our buses. The number 8 is unreliable and infrequent. We deserve better. We’ve already seen the Labour mayor introduce the popular Tiger pass meaning under 25s can travel for £1. There’s more to come as the Tiger transport network for Cambridge rolls out.

Social services. The County Council spends most of its budget on social care. I am an enthusiastic supporter of ‘Care Together’, a programme that Labour is leading, that enables people to stay living independently for longer.

I currently work full time for a local cybersecurity firm. However, if elected, I would reduce my hours in order to spend dedicated days working hard for our community.
