I’m particularly frustrated with the unfairness of the current council tax system. It’s based on property values from 1991 and puts an excessive burden on ordinary workers in Wellingborough. I strongly support the Green Party’s campaign to reform council tax by introducing new bands – so the wealthiest homeowners in London and the South East pay more into the coffers, while people here benefit from reduced bills.

For too long, the Westminster parties have failed towns like ours. We’ve had empty promises, growing inequality, and little real investment. Post-industrial communities like Wellingborough have been left behind. It’s time for meaningful and lasting change.

I know crime and anti-social behaviour are serious concerns. With police visibility lacking, I helped set up a resident-led street patrol scheme. It empowers our community to reclaim our streets and helps make our neighbourhood safer.

I’ve worked as a postman, as a courier in the gig economy, and previously ran a village post office and shop - so I understand the pressures of modern work and the importance of small businesses.

Vote Green on 1st May. It’s time for change.
