Statement to voters
I have been a Wickford North resident since September 2002, I both live and work in the Wickford North ward.
I am asking you to put your trust in me and vote for me so that I can represent you as a Local Councillor and carry on working on behalf of you, the good people of our town. My belief is that residents’ needs always be put before any political leanings locally.
I support ANY initiative that will benefit our town and upon invitation will help anyone who would like to do good work.
If elected this means that I can and will ask the difficult questions, perhaps ruffle a few feathers, and, of course represent and support you, the local people on points such as
OVER DEVELOPMENT & ROADS – we need more schools, doctors, dentists and much improved roads and pavements BEFORE any more building takes place not afterwards.
FACILITIES - better facilities for the young, ie youth clubs, over 50s clubs and places for young families to go, not only daytimes, but also evenings and weekends.
SECURITY – better security, properly supervised CCTV into and out of all areas of our town.
TRANSPORT - needs improvement, buses around the town, to the hospitals, nearby towns and the station.
HIGH STREET - needs more input, cleaning up, make it look more presentable to encourage more businesses and more people to visit. An improved market, we had a wonderful market and can have it again with careful planning. The car parks need improving with a sensible charging system to favour people using the High Street, not turn it into a car park for the out of town commuters who won’t benefit the High Street.

EVENING TRADE – not only pubs and restaurants, perhaps encourage a café society in the summer, some live music in the town, street entertainers etc.
UNAUTHORISED SETTLEMENTS – quickly stopped, the perpetrators need removing swiftly and legally. NO MORE SETTLEMENTS until legally and properly organised.
If elected, I would be able to fight from within for equal funding for all areas and not leave our town without much needed support.
I am fair, open and hardworking, and ask you to consider voting for me on Thursday May 2nd, so that I can continue to serve the community.
MY PROMISE TO YOU
If elected I would hold regular ‘surgeries’ so that you can come and talk to me. Have a dedicated phone number with an answer phone, a dedicated email address, dedicated social media group with regular updates and hopefully a quarterly leaflet.
In conclusion, if you are fed up with the current regime in local council then please put your trust in me. My promise to you is that I will put Wickford and its people first and foremost.
