What difference do you think a Green Party Councillor could make in Castleford Central & Glasshoughton?

A Green Party councillor would offer differing views and perspectives from those of Labour and the Conservatives. Wakefield Council seems trapped in a perpetual cycle of doing the same things and hoping for different outcomes. New opinions and a broad church of political views would foster new ideas and new ways of doing things to help the people of Castleford Central & Glasshoughton ward.

How would a Green approach help ordinary people to better manage the cost of living?

The UK has some of the least green housing in the developed world. Homes are rarely well-insulated and are inevitably heated by fossil fuels. A green approach to housing upgrades will make homes warmer and cheaper to run. Similarly, a switch away from fossil fuels to renewables is proven to lower energy costs and make household bills cheaper. Lastly, a strong push to take public control of privatised resources such as utilities and public transport will mean that private companies are not able to make massive profits that put shareholders before consumers.
