I am now seeking election to the new East Surrey Unitary Council. to continue this work in the reorganised local government system in Surrey. I am passionate about protecting our local countryside and Green Belt, and preserving the rural character of our village and surrounding areas. I have been an Ashtead resident for more than 30 years, but originally from neighbouring Leatherhead and so I have known this area well all my life. Most weekends I can be found walking in the local countryside with my dog and grandchildren! I am a journalist by profession, currently self-employed as a writer and editor, and am active in a number of local and national charities in the following areas: countryside protection, heritage, wildlife & animal welfare, the journalistic profession, and armed forces veterans, serving as a charity trustee and volunteer.
