It is a battle between hope and hate. Vote for Green Party Candidates in the local election 7 May 2026.

The Greens won Castle Ward, Colchester in recent years: Amy 2022 with 1420 (50.2%) of 2820 votes, Mark 2023 with 1374 (50.4%) of 2727 votes, Kemal in 2024 with 1247 (44.5%) of 2805 votes. The locals of Castle Ward benefit from the three Green Party councillors. This can be done in Marks Tey & Layer and other Wards as well. You deserve better. You deserve hard working Green Party councillors as Berthold.

In East of England the former leader Adrian Ramsay was elected MP for Waveney Valley with 20,467 votes (41.7%) and a majority of 5,593 over the second-placed Conservative candidate and this year Hannah Spencer is the first Green Party member to win a parliamentary by-election, and the party's first MP in the north of England. She won the by-election with 40.7% of the votes, a majority of 4,402. Reform second and Labour third. Conservatives and LibDem lost their deposits.

Berthold joint the Green Party of England and Wales in 1999 when he was working for Imperial College in London. In January 2009 he moved to Colchester when he joint the University of Essex. He was Professor of Data Science and Statistics. August 2025 he retired from the University of Essex and continues to serve as Emeritus Professor.
