Statement to voters

A Message to the Electorate from Julie Bull
Subject: A Proven Voice for Sumners & Kingsmoor—Action, Not Broken Promises

Dear Neighbours,
My name is Julie Bull, and I am your Green Party candidate for Sumners & Kingsmoor in the upcoming local election on Thursday, 7th May 2026.

Full statement

A councillor should be a tireless advocate for their community every day of the year. My track record shows I don’t just talk about local issues—I take direct action. From petitioning for zebra crossing improvements outside Milwards Primary School to my ongoing work monitoring the 23,000 proposed HGGT homes, I am committed to standing up for you.

My Priorities for Our Community:
Protecting Our Landscape & Services: I have been on the ground, attending meetings regarding the 122-acre solar farm proposal and the development of land at Jack’s Hatch. I have spoken directly with residents to understand your concerns about land use. While we need renewable energy and housing, it must be the right kind, in the right place, with the right infrastructure.

Healthcare Before Housing: I have submitted formal written objections against the Latton Priory development due to its glaring lack of healthcare provision. We cannot allow 1,300+ new homes without dedicated, on-site GP and dental services.

Holding Others to Account: In 2019, both the Conservatives and Labour promised a new hospital for Harlow. Seven years later, we are still waiting. I will continue to lobby for this promise to be kept while fighting for better access to GPs and a reduction in hospital waiting times today.

Fixing Our Roads & Infrastructure: I will demand an end to overrunning roadworks that cause daily gridlock and "patch-up" pothole repairs that fail within weeks. We need long-term, high-quality resurfacing and strict accountability for contractors who delay our journeys.

Integrity in Politics: As your councillor, I will strictly follow the Nolan Principles of Public Life—ensuring honesty, openness, and accountability remain at the heart of every decision.

The Green Party relies on People Power, not big developers. A vote for the Greens on May 7th is a vote for a candidate who is already doing the hard work for Sumners & Kingsmoor.

Yours sincerely,

Julie Bull
Green Party Candidate for Sumners & Kingsmoor
