Daniel Coleman's policies

Statement to voters

Having grown up in a working class family in the countryside, I know what it is like to be at the back of the queue for investment in roads, public services and a decent internet connection.

Full statement

I remember freezing winters without heating - I never thought that this country would return to those dark days. But now too many people in Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale and across Scotland are struggling; whether through being on a long NHS waiting list, the cost of living crisis or the cost for many sectors, including retail, distribution and farming, of doing business.

I am an experienced economist having worked in the civil service and the private sector on economic growth, industrial strategy, competition and regulation. I want individuals and both the private and public sectors to thrive, generating the jobs and prosperity that we need and deserve, and I have the background to help to deliver this for Scotland and the UK.

As an activist and a trade unionist, I have volunteered with refugees, the homeless, underprivileged children and in a foodbank, I set up a Christmas toy drive in my community and campaigned to improve safety and accessibility of a park. I am driven to help to improve people's lives.

If you have any questions about me or my policies, please drop me a message using the details above!
