Statement to voters
• I’m a city councillor because I believe in liberal values — standing up for individual freedom, strong local communities, fairness, and giving people a real voice in the decisions that affect their lives.
Full statement
• I believe politics should be about getting things done, not party games or empty promises. My job is to listen to residents, act on their concerns, and fight their corner in the Civic Centre.
• I live in the ward and stay in regular contact with residents across Grindon, Thorney Close, Hastings Hill, North Farm, and Springwell through my regular FOCUS community newsletter.
• I campaign on the issues that matter most to local people — safer streets, cleaner neighbourhoods, protecting local services, and making sure our communities get the investment and respect they deserve.
• As an opposition councillor, I hold the Council to account, challenge poor decisions, and speak up when residents feel they are not being listened to.
• I believe power should be decentralised, decisions should be made as close to local people as possible, and communities should have more control over their own future.
• If you have a local issue, need support, or simply want to raise a concern, I’m available all year round by phone, email, post, or in person. My door is always open to residents.
