His journey in unionism began in the early 2000s when he aided the former Iron and Steel Trades Confederation union in its efforts to behind organise betting shop workers - a group traditionally overlooked in union representation. This early experience solidified his commitment to advocating for workers' right across various sectors. Paul's professional background is very diverse with community-orientated roles at the heart. He has worked postman, bringing daily connections to the community and also as a courier in the 'gig' economy for the likes of Deliveroo and Uber. Additionally Paul has experienced the challengers and rewards of running his own business, operating a village post office and shop. This role deepened his understanding of small business dynamics and community service.  Beyond his professional endeavours, Paul is actively involved in mutual aid projects within his constituency, demonstrating his commitment to cooperative community support and resilience.  Family is at the core of Paul's life. He is happily married and the proud father of a daughter, who inspires him to build a greener, more equitable world
