Statement to voters

Sarah is a governor of an NHS Foundation Trust, providing mental health, learning disability and neurodevelopmental services to people of all ages.

Full statement

Sarah is also an entrepreneur, Conservative campaigner and Councillor. Sarah grew up on a council estate and remembers the winter of discontent with its regular power cuts and having to do her homework by candlelight.

When she was 10, her parents bought their first home with the help of Margaret Thatcher’s government. Sarah saw first-hand the importance of home ownership and the danger of overly powerful unions.

At 18, Sarah left school and started working full time. At 21, she was able to buy her first house, where she raised her family. Sarah spent 15 years working at Royal Sun Alliance in various IT roles.

In 2003, she took a career break to be a full time mum. Returning to work, Sarah started a chocolate company which she grew from a table top business into a nationally recognised brand.

This statement was added by Sarah Payne, their team, or by a Democracy Club volunteer, based on information published by the candidate elsewhere.
