I am standing to be your Councillor on both Cornwall Council and Saltash Town Council so that I can play an active part in helping the town thrive and continue to be a safe and supportive community.

I have lived in the centre of this wonderful town for over 35 years, and have seen the town grow and change. I’m now asking for your support to serve the community – to work to ensure Saltash receives its fair share of services and resources. I would ensure that your local councils hear the concerns and challenges of Saltash residents. We need new leadership that understands the challenges of family life in our area.

If elected I would ensure your views are raised with Cornwall Council and play an active part in Saltash Town Council. Over the past 18 months, I’ve knocked on thousands of doors across Saltash to listen to your views and concerns. The issues most frequently raised by residents are clear: poor access to dental and healthcare services, the need for improved local facilities, and the persistent problems of anti-social behaviour, residents parking, speeding, and street cleaning. These are all issues I’m passionate about tackling.

I am also proud of my active involvement in the local community and with the Labour Party. I represented the local MP at the Tamar Crossings Public Inquiry. It is clear from the evidence at the Public Inquiry that the Tamar Crossings could reduce their costs. Residents have told me that they have been promised an end to the tolls for over 30 years – and nothing has been achieved. I will support the new Labour MP Anna Gelderd, who submitted a formal objection to the proposed toll increase, and all the local Labour MPs as they continue to lobby the Government. We all need to play our part in raising our concerns.
