Statement to voters
I’ve been proud to call Cheshunt home for over nine years.
Full statement
In that time, I’ve witnessed how much our community has changed, sometimes for the better, but all too often, vital services have been stretched thin while local voices have gone unheard. I’ve always had a deep interest in politics, but it was the last general election that inspired me to take a more active role in local political life. I believe that change begins at the community level, and that we each have a responsibility to speak up and get involved in shaping a better future for everyone.
One of my core priorities is working with local organisations to end violence against women and girls. Broxbourne must be a place where women feel safe, supported, and heard. That means creating a dedicated safe haven for domestic abuse victims, strengthening the laws that protect them, and properly funding the support services they rely on. But just as crucially, we must invest in education — in our schools, homes, and wider community — to break the cycle of abuse before it begins. Every woman deserves safety, justice, and respect. By coming together as a community, we can build a Broxbourne where those values are more than just words — they’re a lived reality.
