From a teen that couldn't speak English, I am now a writer, tutor, volunteer, event organiser and law student - including administrative law.
This country has provided me with opportunities I couldn't even dream of anywhere else. It's out of gratitude that I want to give back to the community that gave so much to me. That is why I am a conservative - I belive in respecting tradition, pragmatic and level-headed decision making.
I do not want to shift blame on others for the past mistakes made in Woking. The Conservatives have apologised and are moving forward, whilst others remain stuck in the past. We want fresh voices, new ideas and optimism.
In just under a year, we have new unitary councils being created. We cannot allow past problems to carry over. I am standing to be the voice of debate, public engagement and opposition this Council so desperately needs. It's time to reset. It's time for common sense to enter the room.
