Statement to voters

For me, politics has always been about people.

Full statement

It’s about the communities we build, the opportunities we create, and the futures we shape together.

My priorities as an MS are clear: a strong, community-focused NHS; better opportunities for our young people; world-class education for every child; and real partnership with the third sector to strengthen the fabric of our communities. That’s how Labour delivers fairness, dignity, and hope — not just in words, but in action.

As one of the youngest candidates standing, I’ll be making it my mission to prioritise the promises we make to young people. They deserve someone who understands the challenges they face — someone they can relate to and believe in. Too many young people feel unheard, disconnected, or disillusioned with politics. I want to show them that they do have a voice, and that they don’t need to turn to parties like Reform out of frustration. Real change, real fairness, and real opportunity come from working together — not from giving up on the system, but from changing it for the better.

I’ve seen how vital our third sector organisations are — youth clubs, community centres, and local charities that support, inspire, and lift up the next generation. They are the glue that holds our communities together, and I’ll work to ensure they have the funding, recognition, and partnership they deserve.

And we can’t talk about opportunity without talking about transport. Reliable, affordable public transport is not a luxury — it’s a lifeline. It connects people to jobs, education, healthcare, and to one another. That’s why I’ll keep fighting for a transport system that works for everyone, especially in our rural and underserved areas.

Because when our health services are strong, our young people are supported, our schools are world-class, and our communities are connected — that’s when Wales truly works for everyone.
