Statement to voters

I’m Paul Park, and I’m standing to be your Labour & Co-operative councillor because I believe in the power of communities working together to create real change.

Full statement

I’ve lived in Swindon all my life. When I was younger, I've worked in industries across the town, from the industrial roles on the Groundwell Industrial Estate all the way to management roles in the corporate world, and people across our community always treated me as one of their own. That’s something I’ve never forgotten and it’s why I feel a strong sense of responsibility to give back.

Growing up at a time when neurodiversity wasn’t widely understood has shaped who I am. It’s why I care deeply about fairness, strong public services, and making sure no one is left behind.

I’m proud to stand as a Labour & Co-operative candidate, because I believe in social justice, equality, solidarity, and the power of people working together to improve our community.

Already delivering locally

  • Helped transform an abandoned bowls club into a thriving youth hub for local children
  • Set up a code club to support digital skills and opportunities for young people
  • Campaigned for practical community safety measures, including a knife bin at council offices
  • Pushed for stronger local engagement and more active support for community initiatives

My pledges to you

  1. Fix roads and pavements across Priory Vale
Working with the council to ensure roads and footpaths are properly maintained

  2. Improve bus services and local transport connections
Pushing for more reliable timetables, better routes, and stronger links across North Swindon

  3. Protect green spaces and the River Ray
Working with residents and local groups to protect natural areas and improve access

  4. Tackle fly-tipping and keep our neighbourhoods clean
Supporting enforcement action and practical solutions to keep our area tidy and safe

  5. Increase youth provision and activities for young people
Building on the success of local youth initiatives to give young people more opportunities

What you can expect from me

  • A visible, year-round councillor who listens and acts
  • A strong voice for residents, not just at election time
  • A commitment to fairness, tackling the cost of living and protecting services
Energy, integrity, and teamwork in everything I do
  • I believe we need councillors who don’t just talk, but deliver — and who help rebuild trust in politics by being present, accountable, and rooted in their community.

Together, we can build a greener, fairer, stronger community.
