My name is Ian Young, I have lived in Rowlands Castle for over 35 years, and I much appreciate our special Parishes of Horndean and Rowlands Castle.

I served a full career (35 years) in the Royal Navy, as an engineering specialist. My career was spent on active operational service in ships, and managing Royal Navy international projects, with time in the Ministry of Defence. Since leaving the service, I have been involved in projects from building a French canal to new radars for the Royal Navy, and have been active in the community, including as our local Primary School Chairman of Governors, Chairman of Trustees of our local hospice, and Chairman of the team producing our Neighbourhood Plan. If elected I will bring this experience to continue the very good work of Councillor Marge Harvey, working closely with residents and representing your best interests on Hampshire County Council.
