I want to do things a little bit differently.

This election will be consequential for the future of Essex and every vote will count. Your postal vote is about to arrive. It will soon be down to you to decide on our future.

For many, running for Councillor is a stepping stone into Westminster politics. Whether driven by a genuine desire to serve the community or by personal gain, this can lead to local issues being pushed aside.

For me, standing for election is my own way of giving my time to my community.

Our current Liberal Democrat County Councillor has been here for over two decades, yet when I have knocked on doors over the last few weeks, the consistent message has been that nobody ever listens, and nothing ever gets fixed. The very job of your local Councillor is to listen and get things fixed, so I invite you to put your faith in me to be the change that you wish to see.

I understand that many local people are toying with the idea of voting for Reform UK. I have seen their literature, and it talks extensively about issues such as immigration and ideology. These issues are not on the ballot at this particular election, and it concerns me that they and their candidates are clearly not focussed on this being a local election.

 Pushing for Springfield to receive more of our £12.3 million investment in Essex Highways to resurface roads and pavements, fix potholes and improve drainage.
 Pushing the Government to honour Conservative plans to for a long-term solution for the Army & Navy and the widening of the A12.
 Pushing all necessary authorities to help fix whatever problem, big or small, that you come to me with.
