I'm standing for the Green Party in Stour Valley, which covers Acton, Assington, Bures St. Mary, Chilton, Great Waldingfield, Leavenheath, Little Cornard and Newton.

I grew up in Sheffield and moved to Newton 30 years ago, where my husband and I have raised two daughters in this beautiful area which is now home.  Stour Valley is a thriving place to live and be proud of.  I especially enjoy exploring the wilder parts of our countryside and watching live entertainment in our great local venues.

I'm a chartered accountant, working in publishing, and used to managing big project finances. I recently co-founded a local community energy group - Stour Power, which aims to cut carbon emissions and deliver local social and economic benefits.  I'm also the coordinator for the local Green Party, supporting our fantastic team of Green councillors who all work hard in the best interest of our community and environment.  They've inspired me to stand as a councillor myself, to have more opportunity to actively make a difference.

In a world where we face so many challenges I believe that we have to act locally - to support our neighbours and local businesses, and live more sustainably.  If elected, I will stand up for our communities and environment, and fight for the services we deserve.
