Tim Farron's policies
Statement to voters
Tim Farron has been the MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale since 2005, and was elected Leader of the Liberal Democrats on 16th July 2015.
Tim lives in Milnthorpe, south Cumbria, with his wife Rosie, his daughters Isabella and Gracie and his sons Jude and Laurie. In his limited spare time, Tim enjoys following the (mis)fortunes of Blackburn Rovers, playing football, fell running, walking in the Lake District, listening to various kinds of music and spending time with family and friends.
Tim became an MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale in 2005. Since then, he has dealt with over 67,000 constituents cases in his office and held over 600 advice surgeries in South Lakeland.
Tim has also completed 11 successful summer tours around the county - the most recent in Summer 2016 with 28 separate stops! In 2012 Tim visited 40 different villages and communities in South Lakeland on his tour - reaching the more rural communities where a surgery wouldn't normally occur.
