James Westhorpe's policies
Statement to voters
I’ve proudly called Wokingham home since 2020, after previously spending many years working in government service in the UK and overseas.
Full statement
Originally from London, I chose Wokingham for its strong community, character, and quality of life. Having seen how poor decisions and weak governance can damage communities, I am determined to help protect what makes our town special while ensuring services improve for all residents.
If elected, I will work hard to represent our community and deliver meaningful results. My priorities include protecting green spaces and preventing overdevelopment, cutting council financial waste and holding it to account on residents’ behalf, supporting local businesses with measures such as one hour of free parking, delivering promised school investment, and ensuring residents have a stronger voice on the issues that matter.
Wokingham deserves responsible leadership that safeguards its future, and I look forward to serving our community in this capacity should you choose to vote for me.
