Hi there:) with the elections only a month away, I'd like to introduce myself as the Green candidate for Four Oaks ward on both Birmingham City Council and Sutton Town Council.

I grew up here. My kids both have gone to Arthur Terry, just like I did. I love this area: the safe streets, the sense of community, and the park on a sunny afternoon. Four Oaks is a genuinely great place to live, and I want to help keep it that way.
But, like many I'm also frustrated by many things that are happening. I'm frustrated by the lack of support for the basics ... the ongoing bin strikes and the general state of our roads and streets. By the general mismanagement that's meant a decline in services you take for granted. Families like mine have had children missing school due to strikes and I know how hard it is to get a GP appointment.
I'm not here to make noise or pick fights, but be a positive voice for change that benefits everyone. I am someone who'll roll up their sleeves and actually get things done.
To those who are put off by the Greens policies or personalities nationally, I'd like to just ask them to think about what matters at a local level. The Greens are all about investing in local services and working together to make our communities better and safer. I believe this is our main difference to other parties.
