I am Halimah Begum, and I am standing to represent **the community that raised me.

** As a lifelong Elswick resident, wife, and mother, I do not just observe the challenges our families face; I live them every day.
I currently serve as a Housing Support Officer for a local council, where I witness the housing crisis firsthand. With a degree in Law and experience as a Charity Trustee, I possess the professional expertise to fight for justice and advocate for those the system often overlooks.
I will focus on the issues that impact our daily lives, from delivering better housing and fixing potholes to tackling littering and securing improved transport. I will also lobby the NHS for shorter waiting lists and stand as a firm voice against the introduction of digital ID.
I am ready to be a bridge for all generations, ensuring Elswick is always a priority. I am your neighbour and your voice.
