Statement to voters
Having lived in the ward for the last nine years, I am deeply committed to our community and the people who live here.
Full statement
I am standing as a Liberal Democrat candidate to bring a combination of experienced leadership, professional expertise, and a proven track record of public service to our local council.
A Record of Community Service
My commitment to young people and community cohesion is central to my life. I am currently a volunteer Scout Leader at the 2nd Kingsbury Scout Group. Previously, I served as the Scout District Commissioner for Brent from 2017 to 2025. During my eight-year tenure, I had the privilege of leading what became the fastest-growing and most diverse Scout district in the United Kingdom, ensuring that young people from all backgrounds had access to skills for life.
Professional Experience and Leadership
In my professional life, I work as a Software Solution Architect, specialising in designing complex systems for cruise ships. This role requires rigorous problem-solving, long-term strategic planning, and the ability to deliver results within budget.
I am a Chartered IT Professional and a Member of the British Computer Society (MBCS). Furthermore, as a Member of The Institute of Leadership and an Associate of King's College London (AKC), I bring a disciplined and ethical approach to leadership that I believe is essential for effective local government.
Proven Political Experience
I have a long-standing history of representing residents in local government. I served as a District Councillor in West Lindsey (2003–2008) and as a Town Councillor for Market Rasen (2002–2010). Between 2004 and 2006, I served as the Town Mayor of Market Rasen; at the time, I held the record as the youngest ever Mayor in the UK.
This experience taught me how to navigate the complexities of local authorities to get things done for residents. I understand how councils work, how to advocate for better services, and how to ensure that your voice is heard at every level.Having lived here for nine years, I care deeply about the future of our community. I want to combine my background in local government with my experience as a community volunteer to provide the dedicated representation you deserve. I am asking for your support to help build a more effective council that listens to its residents and works hard for every part of our neighbourhood.
