Paul Peters's policies
Statement to voters
Dear Resident
Service has been a constant in my life — first serving
my country in the Army, and now serving my community
in Bexhill.Full statement
I currently serve as a Town councillor, working with
residents to tackle local issues and campaigning for
improvements across our town.
Before entering local government, I served for six years
in the Army as a Royal Engineer, including three years
as a Bomb Disposal Engineer in an active UK Search
Team. I am also a Gulf War veteran, and like many
veterans, I live with the long-term physical and mental
effects of that service. My time in the Armed Forces
taught me discipline, responsibility, and the importance
of standing up for others — values that guide my work
today.
My own life experience has also shaped who I am. For
fourteen years of my childhood, through no fault of my
own, I lived in children’s homes across the south of
England. Those years taught me how important stability,
opportunity, and support really are.
That is why I care deeply about communities like Sidley,
one of the most deprived areas in the country. Our
community deserves real support, real investment, and
a strong voice fighting for it at County Hall.
