My name is Maria Maza.

I'm originally from Spain, but I have lived in Newcastle for most of my adult life, and in Walkergate for the last 23 years. I have raised a family here. I have a background in education, home education, and the arts. Now I am a freelance photographer, doing my best work in documentary projects exploring communities coming together to celebrate. I bear witness to that togetherness, which reminds us what we can accomplish when we trust and help one another.
I am not a politician, I don't strive for power or a political career. I am stepping up to stand as your Green Party candidate in Walkergate because I want to help. I want to listen and get things done. I want us all to stop feeling fear and hate, and to start feeling hope and work for a better world together.
