Statement to voters

I am proud to be the Labour candidate for Easington.

Full statement

I work consistently day in day out for the communities of East Durham supporting local foodbanks providing advice and assistance to local people, tackling local issues and supporting business investment and funding bids to secure new employment opportunities and improve our environment so people can be proud to say they live or work in East Durham.

I have been an effective voice in Parliament leading campaigns like Justice for the Waspi Women, a fairer redistribution of the Mineworkers Pension Surpluses and improving access to lifesaving advanced radiotherapy treatment for cancer patients. I speak up on a range of local issues including for the defence of workers rights Universal Credit and against the cuts to our NHS, Schools, Police and Fire Services.
