For the past two years I’ve been chair of a group of 10 Town and Parish Councils, including Kirkham Town Council, against the Morgan and Morecambe off shore wind farm transmission route and substations.

We’ve led the fight at a series of public hearings and written submissions.

This has meant working closely with those councils, our MP, local Fylde and Lancashire County Councillors, the FACTS campaigning group, Parish and Town Councillors, and local communities.

I’ve shown I can bring people together for the best interests of our local communities, without putting personal or political interests first. I pledge to do the same if elected as a Kirkham councillor.

Much needs to be done - Kirkham Baths, despite promises of being saved, hasn’t seen any work start yet. Our roads have become far worse with a plague of potholes. Millbank care home and day centre remain in limbo and under threat, to the detriment of local residents and staff. We will also need to remain vigilant against fracking being reintroduced.

I will work with the Town Council, local community groups and residents and champion a sensible, level headed approach on all these issues.
