Statement to voters

I am standing to serve as the new George St and Harbour Councillor because I believe strong communities are built through visible leadership, genuine service, and a commitment to people above politics.

Full statement

Throughout my career and voluntary service, I have dedicated myself to supporting others in demanding, high-pressure, and community-focused environments. Whether working as a Youth Advocate with Aberdeen Youth Movement, serving as a Youth Leader within the Royal Marine Cadets, supporting public safety in frontline security and medical response roles, or training and mentoring young people, my work has always centred on one thing: helping people feel safe, supported, heard, and empowered.

George St and Harbour is a community rich in diversity, resilience, and potential. It deserves representation that understands the real challenges faced by residents from community safety and youth opportunity to local development, wellbeing, and accountability. My experiences working directly with people from all walks of life have given me not only the ability to listen, but also the ability to act decisively, responsibly, and compassionately.

I bring practical leadership experience, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism and integrity. I understand the importance of accountability, teamwork, and delivering meaningful outcomes, not promises without action. Through years of service in leadership, education, advocacy, and emergency response environments, I have learned that trust is earned through consistency, visibility, and commitment.

As someone with a background in Politics and International Relations, combined with real-world frontline experience in community service roles, I offer both the understanding and the practical mindset needed to advocate effectively for local residents. I am deeply passionate about creating opportunities for young people, strengthening community cohesion, supporting local businesses, and ensuring residents feel represented and valued.

I am not seeking this position for status or recognition. I am seeking it because I care deeply about the future of our community and believe leadership should always be grounded in service to others.

My guiding principle has always been:
“The highest distinction is service to others.”

If elected as the new George St and Harbour Councillor, I will work tirelessly to be a visible, approachable, and proactive representative who delivers with honesty, dedication, and purpose.
