Statement to voters
As a lifelong resident of Winchester, I care deeply about the future of our city and the wellbeing of everyone who calls it home.
Full statement
My family has lived here since the mid-1800s, and I’ve spent my life working, learning, and giving back to the community that raised me.
Many of you will know me from my 25 years working at NatWest on the High Street – a role that gave me real insight into the day-to-day concerns of local people and businesses.
Today, I run a small consultancy and spend much of my time helping residents navigate housing, benefits, and licensing issues. I'm also proud to support our local schools as a long-standing governor, currently at All Saints in Highcliffe.
For over 40 years, I’ve been involved with the Royal British Legion and served with the Wessex Yeomanry. My work with the Winchester Housing Trust, and formerly as a trustee of St John’s and St Cross, reflects my strong belief in supporting our city’s most vulnerable.
I'm especially passionate about ensuring affordable housing is available for those who need it – an issue I champion as treasurer of the Winchester Tenants’ and Residents’ Association.
Having served as a local councillor, I know how local government works – and more importantly, how to make it work for you. I’m here to listen, to act, and to stand up for what matters most to our community.
Some say I’m a bit of a maverick – and that may be true – but I’ve always stood by my principles as a proud Conservative who puts people first.
I look forward to continuing the conversation with you.
