Statement to voters
Elected as the MP for Eddisbury in 2015, Antoinette lives in the constituency with her family and two dogs. Her sculptor husband, Matt, works in the constituency.
Prior to entering Parliament, Antoinette practised at the Criminal Bar for 13 years.
During her time in Parliament, Antoinette has served on the Welsh Affairs, Energy and Climate Change, and Business Energy and Industrial Strategy Committees. She chaired the APPG on Baby Loss and was an officer on the APPG for Climate Change.
A passionate and powerful advocate for Eddisbury inside and outside Parliament, Antoinette has a proven track record of championing local businesses and farmers as well as securing development and investment for the constituency. She worked extensively with Cheshire FA to ensure that Winsford was selected as the site for a new £70m football facility, which will help bring new jobs and investment to the area. Antoinette also assisted in securing a £1.4m donation towards Alder Hey’s new bereavement and grief counselling centre.
Since 2015, Antoinette has assiduously campaigned for better local services, particularly in terms of schooling, health services and broadband and mobile coverage.
She has regularly met with Education and Treasury Ministers to discuss underfunding of rural schools and make the case for increased funding and investment. She has also pushed for improvements in local health services, including A&E at Leighton Hospital and mental health services.
Working closely with fellow MPs and service providers, Antoinette has strived to secure improvements to broadband speeds and mobile coverage as well as pursuing numerous cases on behalf of individual constituents.
Antoinette has worked closely with CWaC and Ministers to secure the ambitious regeneration of Winsford Town Centre, most recently supporting an application to the Future High Streets Fund, as well as residents’ groups to secure the re-introduction of vital local transport services.
