"I'm Shaun Fraser, I'm Inverness born & bred, and I'm your Scottish Labour candidate at the Scottish parliament election in May.Full statement
I don't come to politics through a conventional route - my background is as a self-employed artist, and before that I worked in homelessness prevention for local charity New Start Highland.
It was because of the experiences that I have through working for New Start that I first got involved in politics. The corrosive austerity agenda of the Tory-Lib Dem UK coalition of the time left a profound impression on me.
I could see that whether we like it or not, politics touches on all of our lives, the good and the bad, and I want to do whatever I can to steer things in the direction of compassion.
That's why I'm standing at this election. I'll be on your ballot paper in May as a principled voice for change for Inverness & Nairn".
