Statement to voters

I have been an active member of the Green Party since 1979.

Full statement

The concerns we had then we thought might affect our children's, children's children. I am appalled to find that these concerns have accelerated to such a degree they are now actually affecting me and everybody else alive today.  I am lucky to have career experience in the fields of water, energy, and food production and these are the areas where I have most to offer.  I took up the challenge of helping to look after our small family farm at the age of 50 and we continue to try to merge environmental sustainability with sustainable food production. I am honoured to be the Green Party Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency of St Ives once again.  Support viable, sustainable regenerative farming.  Work with farmers and stakeholders to enhance and expand the natural environment.  Support responsible access to the countryside. Provide affordable homes in every community noting that in Cornwall we don't have a housing crisis we have a housing distribution crisis - with empty homes hollowing out communities. Invest in Green growth and fully connected local economies. Rejoin the EU Customs Union As a matter of urgency upgrade the power grid to accommodate locally owned and embedded renewable energy generation, demand management and energy efficiency. Penwith generates less than 10% of its energy from renewable sources in the windiest part of the country. Make every home a warm home. Support Ukraine.
