I am married with four children all of whom went to local state schools. I currently work in business development for a national charity. I’ve had a wide and varied career, which started as a volunteer with VSO in East Africa and has covered board-level roles in the private sector, education and not-for-profits.
The County Council needs a more imaginative approach to cut bureaucracy, to keep costs down, protect more services and ensure a fairer approach to Council Tax. This means investing in Hampshire and a smarter use of Council assets to raise new income, instead of always cutting budgets. Hampshire needs to support local businesses and protect jobs as part of our wider plan to address the climate emergency.
I want to stand up for residents at Hampshire County Council and fight for better infrastructure to support the ever-growing number of new housing developments. I want to speed up Hampshire’s action on climate change and improve the dreadful record on recycling. I want a caring, better-run Hampshire that does not just cut services as its first reaction to a financial squeeze.
