Jim Shannon was elected to Westminster in May 2010 following 12 years in the Northern Ireland Assembly.

He is highly experienced, and well known for his hard work and down to earth attitudes.

Jim has a strong commitment to moving forward yet holding to the strong unionist principles that we hold so dear and never forgetting what has gone before.

Jim is interested in Ulster Scots, an avid Northern Ireland Football supporter and interestingly a Leicester City Supporter. He loves countrysports and enjoys his Sunday with his family and attending church.

He is well known for his sense of humour and compassion and has a strong sense of community.
