Statement to voters
I am 36 years old and first came to Braintree when I was two days old.
Full statement
I really love my home town and live in the Braintree Town Division. Having been brought up on Queenborough Lane, my parents run a local contracting business and my earliest working experience was in that business.
I was first elected to Braintree District Council in 2011, I have been a Cabinet member since 2014 and became Deputy Leader of the Council in 2019. I have been responsible for Economic Development including Town Centres and Prosperity since 2015. Our town has had its difficulties, but I have been passionate in getting Braintree District Council to commit to the exciting Victoria Square Development, the popular Street Markets and pedestrianising the High Street, which will be completed soon.
These remain difficult times and I will always ensure your priorities are mine too. I will work very hard for every resident with a special focus on improving our town and creating jobs.
Three Priorities for Braintree Town: • Improve the state of the roads in, out and around our great town and help neighbours with their parking issues • Support local shops and businesses within the town to bounce back better • Work with local education providers and employers to make sure our fellow residents can train and retrain to have the best job prospects possible.
