Statement to voters
Michael has lived in County Durham for most of his adult life, and actively campaigns to improve the area. Originally from Newcastle he has lived in the North East all of his life and has campaigned with the Lib Dems across the region to help fight back against the Labour-controlled local authorities that let our communities down. A strong believer in civil liberties and equality, he believes that the Liberal Democrats are the best party to lead our country.
Outside of politics, Michael runs a small IT business in the North East, and chairs the organising committee of a local technical user group, helping to bolster the region's tech community. He serves on the committee for his local village festival and is an active community litter picker. He also serves on the committee for Healthwatch Gateshead. Previously, Michael volunteered with an organisation helping those suffering from enduring mental health difficulties.
This statement was added by Michael Peacock, their team, or by a Democracy Club volunteer, based on information published by the candidate elsewhere.

- 2019: The UK Parliament elections, as the Liberal Democrats candidate for the North West Durham
