Statement to voters

I’m Labour’s candidate for Chipping Barnet. I’m a proud, lifelong North Londoner, committed to standing up for our community.

Our local MP obsesses on pushing for a disastrous hard Brexit. That would wreck local services and divide our community. I want to be your MP, to bring our community and our country together, and make Chipping Barnet cleaner, greener, fairer, and a more affordable place to live – with decent homes and jobs for all.

The Conservatives have held this seat for almost 70 years – Chipping Barnet needs change.

I’m passionate about remaining in the EU – membership of the European Union is good for Chipping Barnet and good for our country. As your MP, I’d fight to keep our country part of a modern, reformed, democratic EU.

I’m a campaigner – my whole life has been spent fighting for a better world. Winning change in Barnet won’t be achieved by sitting in Parliament. It’ll be won by working with our community, listening to your priorities and being your voice in Westminster and beyond.

I’m ready to stand up for you – as a lawyer, I represent those who have been mistreated at work. I’ve got the experience to fight your corner when you need help from your MP, and the skills to make the case for our community’s needs.
