Statement to voters

Deliver Brexit for the people of Newcastle: Along with 63% of Newcastle residents, I voted to leave the European Union.

Full statement

This must now be delivered without further delay. I will use my vote in Parliament to back Boris Johnson's deal and then secure the best Brexit result for our town.

Regenerating our town centre: I will work constructively with the council and local businesses to regenerate the Ryecroft site, keep our market vibrant, and secure from the Government the best possible Town Deal as part of the up to £25m funding that Newcastle will receive.

Deliver high-skilled, better paid jobs: I have worked in software for bet365 for the past 13 years and also co-own a startup in Newcastle on Brunswick Street. I will use my expertise to help bring top-quality jobs and build on the recent £33m investment in the Keele University Enterprise Zone.

Crack down on anti-social behaviour and curb rural crime: Our Conservative council are implementing state-of-the-art CCTV coverage in the town centre. I will work with local community groups and the additional police officers Staffordshire is getting to crack down on anti-social behaviour and tackle rural crime.

Invest in our local NHS: My children were born at the Royal Stoke, and I welcome the recent news that it will get new equipment to improve cancer detection. I will make sure we get our share of the £33.9 billion extra the Government has announced to deliver more beds and reduce waiting times.

Transport improvements and reduced emissions: I want both improved public transport and investment in our roads to reduce congestion and emissions. I will push for a remodelling of Junction 15 of the M6 and the adjacent roundabout, to make the junction safer and reduce traffic jams on the A500 and Clayton Road.
