Now more than ever our area needs an MP who has lived here most of their life, brought their family up here and knows the people, the issues, needs and challenges on Teesside.

And our people need a champion who will: fight for the Accident and Emergency and Consultant led Maternity Units at North Tees Hospital; continue the work to protect existing industries and develop others like offshore oil rig decommissioning; demand fair funding for local schools now facing huge budget shortfalls; and who’ll provide the very personal support to individuals and families when needed.

I am that person. I’ve served our community as a councillor and MP for quarter of a century. Much has been achieved, not on my own, but in partnership with community groups, charities, businesses, the local council, health professionals and trade unionists.

Only the Labour Party will work for ALL our community by restoring the NHS to health; funding our schools and students properly; stopping the Tories taking pensioners’ homes to pay for care; protecting pensions, winter fuel allowances and free bus passes; ensuring the most vulnerable people have the income and support they need; getting a better deal for rail passengers and water consumers; and having a fair tax system with corporations and the rich paying more to fund vital services.

I know MY area and haven’t just nipped up from London or Manchester to ask for your vote.
