Statement to voters

"Kelvin Cracknell is the Labour Party candidate for Rushmere Ward at the Borough Council election on 2nd May 2019.

Full statement

Kelvin was born with cerebral palsy, and is confined to a wheelchair, but this has not slowed him down.

Kelvin has lived and worked in Ipswich all his adult life. He is currently working as the chairman of the Ipswich Disabled Advice Bureau after serving on the Board of Trustees since 2013. In addition to this, he is also a volunteer for the bureau teaching computer skills to their clients. He also plays an active part in Ipswich Borough Council's tenant participation programme.

Kelvin says: “All the work I have tried to do, has involved supporting my community. It has enabled me to work closely with wide and varied groups of people in wide and varied situations. I enjoy Ipswich, and the people that make it what it is. If I’m elected to represent the residents of Rushmere, I will be working hard to support their needs, and protect the services that are so important to them.

It is important that communities are involved in the services that councils provide, and that residents can be confident that if they choose to speak out I will be listening.”

This statement was added by Kelvin Cracknell, their team, or by a Democracy Club volunteer, based on information published by the candidate elsewhere.
