I have lived in neighbouring Penge for nearly 20 years and the ward of Beckenham
Town and Copers Cope has been a regular part of my life.

I have enjoyed watching
cricket at Kent County Cricket Club, taking my children to the now-lost Gambado’s,
attending carol services at St George’s Church and Christ Church, and facilitating a
social skills drama group for young people on the autistic spectrum at Beckenham
Methodist Church. The area and its people mean something to me.
I have worked for just under 30 years in homelessness and social care, driven by my
belief that there is a more equitable and just way to build our society. I currently work
for a national homelessness charity focused on making stays in temporary
accommodation short, safe and healthy.
My priorities:

• Affordable social housing in right place – oppose planning applications by
  developers which negatively affect residents, green spaces, mature trees and
  wildlife, but pushing for the right developments which our community needs
• Tackle Bromley Council’s strategy of placing homeless households out in Kent to
  reduce the number of families having to break local links at a time of crisis
• Push for better assessment processes and support systems for children with
  special educational needs
• Accessible public toilets
• Working to maintain and build Beckenham’s pride and resilience as a diverse,
  thriving neighbourhood
   
  Working alongside my fellow Green candidates, Ruth Fabricant and Geoff Newman,
