Statement to voters

I was proud to be elected as the Member of Parliament for Birmingham Erdington in March 2022, when I became Birmingham's first ever black MP.

Full statement

Erdington has been my home for over 35 years. It's where my children were born, raised, and attended local schools.

I'm a qualified nurse and worked at the local health centre at Warren Farm Road in Kingstanding for several years. I also served as a district nurse in Birmingham for 25 years.

At the next general election, we have a once-in-a-generation chance to secure real change for our community and our country. We must rebuild our NHS, public services and put more police officers onto our streets. We can only do this with a Labour Government.
